4.3/5

The best pick for large homes. Two batteries and a compressing bin mean you clean the whole house in one go and empty far less often.

Most cordless sticks are designed around a flat or a small house. The LG CordZero A9 Kompressor is built for the opposite problem: cleaning a large, multi-floor home in a single session without running out of charge or stopping to empty a tiny bin every ten minutes. On both counts it delivers.

Design and Weight

The A9 is a solid, substantial vacuum. It’s heavier in the hand than the Dyson V12 Detect Slim, and you notice it on stairs — this is not the one to buy if low weight is your priority. What you get for the mass is a reassuringly sturdy build and a telescopic metal wand that adjusts to your height. Controls are button-based, not a trigger.

Suction Performance

Suction is strong and, more importantly, consistent — it doesn’t sag noticeably as the battery drains, which is a common complaint with cheaper sticks. The Power Drive head handles carpet and hard floors well, and LG’s dual-battery system means you’re not tempted to nurse a dying pack through the last room. It’s not a laser-guided fine-dust specialist like the Dyson V15, but on general cleaning it holds its own.

Battery Life

This is the headline. Two swappable batteries ship in the box, each good for a normal-mode run, so total runtime lands around two hours. Swapping takes seconds. For a big house, that’s the difference between one uninterrupted clean and three half-finished ones. Our battery life guide explains why removable packs beat sealed ones long-term.

The Kompressor Bin and Tower

Two features set the A9 apart day to day. The Kompressor lever mechanically crushes collected dust and hair down into the base of the bin, so it holds far more before you empty it — and it compacts the fluffy pet-hair clumps that fill a normal bin fast. Paired with the All-in-One Tower, the vacuum charges both batteries and empties its own bin into a sealed bag when docked. Between the two, hands-on emptying becomes rare.

Maintenance

Filters are washable (five-step filtration), and the Kompressor keeps the bin tidy so emptying is cleaner than most. Follow the usual filter-drying routine in our maintenance guide — never refit a damp filter.

Verdict

If you have a big house, the LG CordZero A9 Kompressor is the stick vacuum to shortlist first. Two batteries kill range anxiety, the compressing bin and self-emptying tower kill the emptying chore, and suction stays strong throughout. Accept the extra weight and the bundle price and it’s a genuinely great big-home cleaner. Smaller homes are better served by the lighter, cheaper options in our full reviews list.
